Japan’s three shipping hang for merging
Issue Time:2016-11-04

Nippon Yusen Kaisha, Mitsui OSK Lines and K Line, Japan’s biggest three shipping company, will plan to merge the world’s sixth biggest container fleet. If approved, this huge combo will take about 7 percent of global capacity.

Sluggish trade growth, overcapacity, all the sectors indicate that container-shipping has been through the worst conditions in the last 60 years since Hanjin Shipping ,South Korea’s largest container line, in August became the first significant company to seek bankruptcy protection.
